Book excerpt: This report presents a cost analysis of Ethyl Acetate production from ethanol. The process examined is similar to the Johnson Matthey's DAVY ethyl acetate technology. In this process, Ethyl Acetate is produced in a two‐stage reaction: ethanol is dehydrogenated to acetaldehyde, which further reacts with ethanol to form Ethyl Acetate.
