Book excerpt: This report presents a cost analysis of Ester-Grade Acrylic Acid (EAA) production from natural gas. The study examines an integrated plant in which natural gas is first converted to acetylene and the acetylene produced is converted to Acrylic Acid. In addition, synthesis gas obtained in the acetylene manufacture is used to produce methanol as by-product.
