Book excerpt: This report presents a cost analysis of Acetic Acid production from methanol and carbon monoxide. The process examined is a typical carbonylation process. In this process, the carbonylation is promoted by an iodide rhodium liquid catalyst. The liquid product is sent to a set of distillation columns to recover the Acetic Acid.
